RevealReviewField notes from twenty years of watching launches

What would make it a no?

An October with genuinely no hours in it. That is the entire list. Everything else people cite is either solvable or is not the real objection.

The one that holds

A period where two or three hours a week truly does not exist - a demanding stretch at work, a move, a new arrival, something concrete. Not "busy", which describes everyone and decides nothing.

In that case the sessions pass, the material waits, and it becomes another login nobody opens. The money is worse than wasted because it also buys a small ongoing sense of obligation.

The one that sounds like a reason and is not

"I want to research more first." At some point additional research stops informing the decision and starts postponing it, and that point arrives earlier than people think.

The honest test: can you name what you would need to learn to decide. If yes, go and learn it. If not, you have finished researching and are doing something else.

How to tell which applies to you

Try to place the hours in a calendar before deciding anything. It is a two-minute action and it converts an abstract worry into an observable fact.

Everything on the "does not hold" list dissolves under that test. The one that holds does not, which is exactly why it is the only one worth taking seriously.

The objection I would take seriously that nobody raises

Whether you actually want to spend your evenings making short videos and answering messages from strangers. That is the job, every week, for months.

People interrogate the price and the seller at length and almost never ask whether they want the work itself. It is the objection most likely to be true and the least often examined.

The opinion, stated plainly

Most people who decide against this decide on one of the soft objections, because the soft objections are more comfortable to hold than the calendar one. The calendar answer is either yes or no and it does not leave room for a maybe.
